Our Pets
The Pets of Althaus Law
Our law firm wouldn’t be complete if it weren’t for our pets! If you would like to know a little bit more about the animals behind the scenes, feel free to check out their bios below.
Macy – Legal Beagle
Macy was a very particular lady and arguably the alpha of the dog pack. If she wanted something, she had no qualms making it very clear to both Moses and Shiloh that they were not to have it. Underneath her leadership attitude, she was all love and affection, however. She would paw at your lap until you cuddled with her and loved to snuggle under any blanket that someone was trying to use, afterall, it was her blanket and she was just letting you borrow it.
Macy crossed the rainbow bridge in October of 2021, but spent many CO days hiking, camping, napping and sunning throughout the day. You could always find her lying in the only spot of sun on the floor, wherever that may have taken her.
Shiloh – The Beagle/Basset a.k.a. Bagel – Legal Beagle in Training
Shiloh was rescued when he was roughly four years old, which made him somewhere in the ballpark of seventeen when he passed away this past spring. He and Macy were connected at the hip, but usually just coexisted with Moses.
Shiloh was an interesting part of the family. He was the sheriff and alarm, he was the worry wart, and was also the best cuddler on the planet. His best achievement was to nap for 5 hours straight without moving. His favorite activities included pacing the house waiting for his humans to come home, barking at doors and eating everything in sight. He was a much loved and invaluable member of Althaus Law.
Moses – The Siberian Husky
Moses was the founding father of Althaus Law and loved by everyone that met him. Unfortunately, we lost this brave soul in 2020, but he will always be remembered. He had a great plan in place that fortunately transferred all his assets and love to those who needed it most.
Moses loved everyone and was quick to greet all with his wet nose. As anyone who has ever had a husky in the family knows, shedding was on the top of his priority list. Underneath all that fur, however, was a kind-hearted and much loved member of the Althaus Law family. If you had a chance to meet him, you undoubtedly left happier than when you walked in, and probably with some of that dog hair on you too. RIP Moses, we miss you.
Moof
Moof was just a few months old when she was adopted into the Seale family. We originally named her after Mufasa but that just didn’t fit. Moof is much more her style. Though she hasn’t been climbing with us yet, she has enjoyed little walks outside, as long as she can still see the front door (not huge on snow, though). We try to spoil her with all kinds of toys, but we have found that Moof specifically likes old shoelaces and other strings. Boxes that are about to be recycled are another one of her favorite things. She does occasionally cuddle with us, usually right when the person whose lap she has selected has to get up for whatever reason. Overall, Moof is a funny little cat who brightens our everyday!
Heidi
Heidi joined the Seale family just a short while ago and is only two months old so we’re still getting to know the sweet baby. She does love to annoy her big sister, Moof, and chasing any kind of string that appears in her line of sight. She can be heard purring from miles away, though she is great at hiding in the shadows to catch those unsuspecting strings (hence, Heidi). She truly is the sweetest little cat friend for Moof that there ever could be.
Kat – Excellence. Enthusiasm. Compassion. Authenticity.
These are the words that Kat lives by as he sleeps 20 hours a day. Andrew adopted Kat right after his 8th birthday from Sloppy Kisses Animal Rescue in Highlands Ranch, and they have been best buddies ever since. We don’t know much about Kat’s back story, but Sloppy Kisses stated that Kat had been sent to them after he had been in a kill shelter in Texas. Kat has very few teeth and no front claws but exudes confidence due to his elegant half moustache. Kat loves to poop, eat, stare out of the window, and encourage other cats to get their estate plans so that all their toys are sure to be passed on to their kittens and so their kittens can avoid cat probate. Andrew is incredibly thankful for Kat’s companionship, and sometimes gets the feeling that Kat thinks that Andrew is his pet, instead of the other way around. Kind of makes you wonder who rescued who?
Hercules
Hercules, being the runt of the litter, was small but mighty—and boy, did he grow! Weighing in at just over 70lbs, this Boxer/Husky mix is the life of the party and quite the singer. Hercules' favorite season is Winter, because there's nothing Hercules loves more than to run around outside in the snow! Thunder, fireworks, hail, this guy isn't afraid of anything (unless it's a spray bottle of water, then all bets are off). He absolutely adores his older sister, Ziggy, and tries his hardest to get her to play with him... though he hasn't been successful yet.
Ziggy a/k/a Ziggy Stardust a/k/a Ziggy Smalls
Ziggy is a whole 12lbs of personality! Contrary to her nicknames, this Jack Russell terrier mix is a very quiet pup and is not a renowned singer. She was rescued as a puppy just outside of LA and has been a part of the family for the past 14 years. Though she may be a little old lady, she still runs this household! Her younger brother, Hercules, pests her all the time with his whippersnapper antics.
Toby – Head of Security
Toby, who is a Bichon Frise, is head of security at the Althaus Law. This loveable seven pound dog makes sure to alert everyone of anyone entering the firm as his barks are much bigger than him. He only works part time at the firm and he is a very hard worker, as he only naps 5 hours of his shift.
Lemmy
Lemmy is a rescue from the 2020 Covid-era. He and his littermates all live on the same street, with his best buddy (and brother) just next door. A vigilant watcher for squirrels and rabbits, all it takes is a whispered, "Who's that?", for him to take off out the back door. While he will occasionally bring back a prize from his escapades back into the house, he's a very sweet boy to his humans.
A chihuahua, rat terrier, and poodle mix, Lemmy loves his walks, chasing critters, and howling to any first-responder sirens. When he's not snuggled with his people or running back-and-forth between houses with his brother, you will find him perched on the back cushion of the couch.
